Copyrights

Copyright is a form of intellectual property law which protects literary, dramatic, musical, and other artistic works, including poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture. Under the U.S. Copyright Act, copyright protection begins when there is an "original work of authorship" that is "fixed in a tangible medium of expression." In other words, copyright protection begins as soon as you

create your work, that is if the work is original to you. While copyright protection arises begins on creation of a work, certain advantages come by registering your copyright before your work is infringed. For example, if a copyright is registered before it is infringed, the author will be entitled to seek statutory damages as well as attorney's fees in federal court.
